Gears did set a standard in 2006 but the PS3 exclusives passed that and set higher standards starting in 2007 with Uncharted, then MGS4, then LBP, then Killzone 2, MLB 09: The Show, then Uncharted 2, then Demon's Souls, then MAG, then Heavy Rain, then MLB 10: The Show, and now GOW III and keeps setting standards to this day while the Xbox hasn't advanced beyond what Gears did in 2006.

Only PS3 exclusives can compete with PS3 exclusives. A PS3 exclusive can only keep the graphics crown for a few months before another PS3 exclusive takes the graphics crown all while leaving games on other consoles far, far, far behind.
Wasn't Bayonetta and Dante's Inferno supposed to be better than God of War III? Where are those games now?
